The house on the Herengracht
The house on the Herengracht
During World War II the grand House at Herengracht 401 served as a hiding place. After the war, it remained the home to a closed community of artists and poets for almost five decades. Now that the patron of the House Gisele has died at 100 years old, the current inhabitants are working towards a new future of the house. While they sort out Gisele's old things, rebuild, and open the house to the public, filmmaker Janina Pigaht attempts to tell the story of the houses past. But is there an unambiguous story to tell?
