Impact program All is well

Following the new documentary by award-winning Peter and Petra Lataster (known for, among others, De Kinderen van Juf Kiet and Jeroen Jeroen) All Is Well, about Ukrainian elderly women who have to build a new life in the Netherlands while struggling to maintain their own identity, we will travel the country and organize all kinds of screenings and discussions to bring Ukrainian elderly women into conversation with each other on the one hand and Ukrainians with Dutch on the other.

1. We bring together groups of older Ukrainian women to watch the film together and then talk about what it is like to suddenly live in a different culture. The central questions are: How do you adapt yourself so that you can also live in the new world, without losing too much of your old self? How do you live your life in a new world, while you actually plan to go back to the old one as soon as that is possible again? And how do you live with the consequences of war in a safe country?

2. In addition, together with the Ukrainians themselves, we organize screenings in their living rooms where they invite people from the neighborhood to connect with each other based on the film. In this way, more space is created for the story of the Ukrainians, more understanding is created among the Dutch, the Ukrainians build more contact in the neighborhood and the Dutch can help the Ukrainians in the process of integrating and feeling at home.
