Several people with high debt appear before the District Court of The Hague. They hope to be admitted to three years of debt restructuring, so they will be given a new, debt-free chance afterwards. The judges decide their fate by always having to make a difficult decision: did they make their debts in good faith and do they have the right to a clean slate? Or do they remain chained to their debts for the rest of their lives?
