Open Chat
A chat at the coffee machine with a new colleague is quite easy. Having a profound conversation with someone you do not know so well is much more difficult. Especially with someone who is half your age or twice as old.
We noticed that during the making of the documentary A new dawn when we filmed in a nursing home where young people came to live. This is why we came up with the idea to develop a game that would help the different generations to get a real conversation going.
Open Chat consists of sixty conversation starters cards and a manual containing the basic principles of dealing with the other generation (such as: switch off your phone, do not treat the other person as if it were infantile, talk loud and clear, etc.). You'll have a good conversation in no time. Beyond the courtesy talk.
A New Dawn's director Kim Brand and composer Spinvis played this game together, check it out here.
Idea: Kim Brand & Hasse van Nunen
Development: Miriam van Oort, Eva Oosterveld & Hasse van Nunen
Artwork: Atelier Titi, Ellen de Bruijn
Do you want to have it at home to play as often as you like?
It's for sale in our shop (only in Dutch).
