When She Is Not There

When filmmaker Wieke Kapteijns was six years old, his mother passed away. He was left with a silent father, two younger sisters, and a fading image of his mother as time went by. A quarter of a century later, he embarks on a quest to find her. Through objects, photos, home videos, and found footage, not only does he create an image of the woman his mother was, but he also discovers for the first time what he truly misses.
