Mijn vader, Nour en ik
Mijn vader, Nour en ik

Twenty years ago, filmmaker Wiam Al-Zabari was 14 years old and in the middle of the night - along with his mother, sister and brother - forced to flee from Baghdad to the Netherlands, where his father was waiting for them. They never spoke about this event ever since. Now that Wiam himself became a father to his Dutch son, he is confronted with the troubles he still has when it comes to settling down in The Netherlands himself. This raises questions: Why did they actually run? And why have they never discussed that flight? Wiam turns to his family, but especially his father, to open up about their past for the very first time. To ask them how they dealt with finding their home in The Netherlands. Can he let go of the past and finally embrace a Dutch
